A career at the TAC Bringing new opportunities to Geelong
What does the TAC do?

The road safety campaigns you see are only a part of the important work done by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).

Our main role in Victoria is to fund treatment and support services for the thousands of people injured in or affected by transport accidents on our roads.

The TAC is a no-fault scheme. This means that benefits are paid to an injured person, regardless of who caused the accident.

Legislation guides the TAC in the types of benefits it can pay and any conditions that apply. This legislation is called the Transport Accident Act 1986.

The TAC is the most equitable personal injury scheme in the world and aims to set international standards in its service delivery. Our team of dedicated and talented staff help to make this possible.

Our mission: A future where every journey is a safe one.

To achieve our mission the TAC works closely with road safety partners, including Victoria Police and VicRoads, and the Department of Justice to educate motorists about road safety and help reduce road trauma in our community.

TAC clients require a range of medical treatment, rehabilitation services and therapy. So, strong partnerships in the health and disability sector are also vital to enabling better client outcomes.

Through these partnerships, the TAC makes a significant difference to the lives of those affected by road trauma, and to the Victorian community.
